For those of you that have already completed the survey- thank you and
there is no need to complete it for a second time.

For those who have not yet filled out the Life Science Research Survey- we
want to hear from everybody in an attempt to better understand how to meet
the needs of our students and how to effectively provide equitable
opportunities regarding undergraduate students’ research experience. To do
this we request that EACH student who is currently enrolled in their 4th
year or more (i.e. graduating or returning) in a LIFE SCIENCE program
complete this brief survey. This survey will only take 5 minutes and
should be completed by April 7th.

Thank you in advance for your time.

Dear Psych Students!

** Please read the message below for information on a major annual
neuroscience conference being held at the University of Toronto April
30th, 2012. **

The Society for Neuroscience (SfN) is a world-renowned nonprofit
membership organization of scientists and physicians who study the
brain and nervous system. It is one of the world?s largest
organizations of scientists and physicians devoted to advancing the
understanding the brain and nervous system, and is an ideal way to get
involved with the global neuroscience community.
The Southern Ontario Neuroscience Association (SONA), the Southern
Ontario Chapter of SfN, will be hosting its annual meeting at the
University of Toronto this year, which allows for a rare, exceptional
networking and learning opportunity for us undergraduates interested
in neuroscience! Due to our collaboration with the University of
Toronto Neuroscience Program (UTNP), NAUS is lucky to be co-hosting
this year?s SONA Annual Meeting on Monday April 30th.

This event will manifest as a full-day conference, featuring guest
lectures on career development, guest speakers in neuroscience from
other universities, and our Keynote Speaker Dr. Ed Ruthazer from the
Montreal Neurological Institute at McGill University. A more detailed
schedule can be found on our website,
http://naus.sa.utoronto.ca/sona-2012/.

We STRONGLY encourage you to attend in this exciting event.
Registration must be done in advance, and can be done here:
http://naus.sa.utoronto.ca/sona-2012/. To register, you must also
complete the Registration Form
(http://neuroscience.utoronto.ca/Assets/UTNP+Digital+Assets/SONA+2012+REG+FORM.pdf)
and email it to p.neuroscience@utoronto.ca. The registration fee is $25
for students, and includes full access to all events and
lunch!

Also, we welcome you to present any of your undergraduate research
during the poster session. Attending this conference is a great
addition to your CV, but presenting in it is even better! This event
is very targeted to undergraduates, so please do not feel hesitant to
sign up! To submit an abstract, please follow the instructions on the
Abstract Submission information sheet
(http://neuroscience.utoronto.ca/Assets/UTNP+Digital+Assets/SONA+2012+ABST+INSTRUCT.pdf).
The deadline for Registration and Abstract Submission is Friday, April
20th. If you will not be presenting any research, we still encourage you
to visit the other posters from your peers and the Collaborative Program
in Neuroscience graduate
students!

We look forward to you joining us for this exciting day of
neuroscience and networking! Sign up today, you will not be
disappointed! If you have any comments, questions or suggestions,
please do not hesitate to contact us!

Best wishes,
