A PhD candidate is looking for 4 student volunteers within the University of Toronto’s psychology, forensic science, sociology, and/or criminology programs. Ideally, candidates will be students who are interested in gaining academic research experience, who are passionate about their fields of study, and who enjoy collaboration.
Positions entail data-entry so a keen eye for detail is a must. Volunteers should expect to devote roughly 10 hours per week to the project. Volunteers can work from home and make their own hours.
Positions:
Data Entry: Missing Persons Database (2 positions)
In this role, you would be given access to an extensive database of historical and current missing person cases throughout Canada. Your role would be to help populate this database by filling in missing data cells with information that can be found through a general Google search. This is an entry level position, but there are opportunities for growth and continued research opportunities.
Data Entry: Serial Homicide Database (2 positions)
In this role, you would be given access to an extensive database of information on serial killers. Your role would be help populate this database by filling in missing data cells with information that can be found through a general Google search. This is an entry level position, but there are opportunities for growth and continued research opportunities.
This is an excellent opportunity for students to engage in collaborative research. This study will commence January 1st, 2018 and will continue until mid-June 2018.
