Jenn Barnes, a UofT alumni and a Ph.D. candidate in Clinical Psychology is conducting her dissertation research on the relationship between maternal trauma and child attachment/behaviours in a refugee population. She is based in Ottawa but is collecting data from families in Ottawa, Montreal, and Toronto. Currently, she is looking for a volunteer research assistant to help collect data from families in Toronto. The appointments with families are 3 hours long, and the RA would accompany her to the appointments to observe and assist. Spirit of Life, a non-profit organization in Toronto focuses on providing services for children with developmental disabilities. They’re looking for volunteers to help out with some of their programs in 2019 (e.g., baking class, social skills group, etc). The location is in Markham / North York area and depending on the program, and they’re looking for volunteers to commit for about 2 to 3 hours per week, though the timing is flexible.
