Academic Coordinator (1)

Coco Li
Hey everyone! I’m Coco Li, and I’m excited to be running for the position of Academic Coordinator. As a second-year student minoring in Psychology, I’ve developed a deep passion for the subject and a strong commitment to the PSA community.

Over the past year, I’ve been actively involved with PSA, participating in events like the Dr. Freud Competition, volunteering with the association, and taking part in the mentorship program. These experiences have been incredibly enriching, not only deepening my understanding of psychology but also connecting me with peers who share my enthusiasm. The PSA community has truly become a key part of my university journey, and I want to ensure others have the same positive experience.

As Academic Coordinator, I plan to expand the mentorship program by introducing more mentorship socials and study sessions to foster greater mentor-mentee interactions. By enhancing these connections, we can cultivate a supportive and close-knit environment for everyone in the psychology community.

Please vote for Coco as your Academic Coordinator. Thank you for your support!

Jen Oh
Nice to meet you all! My name is Jen, a third-year student double majoring in psychology and music, and minoring in linguistics.

If you were involved with the PSA last year in any way, you may have crossed paths with me before. As a co-secretary of 2023-2024 PSA, I was in charge of designing event posts, assisting with inquiries, responding to messages, and connecting you with the right people. Using my background as a previous PSA executive, I aspire to continue supporting you all!

As a person who switched programs four times in the span of three years, I have a deep understanding of how chaotic undergrad life can be. I would like to be there for you in the midst of that existential crisis. As your academic coordinator, I aim to support your psychology journey through:

– Expanding the mentorship program based on student opinions and feedback
– Providing objectives to achieve throughout the mentorship program to further motivate and support the students
– Hosting graduate information program based on student interests

Conference Coordinator (1)

Clizia Martini
Hi everyone!

I’m Clizia, a third-year Psychology specialist and Global Health major running for Conference Coordinator.

Last year, I had the opportunity to serve as part of the conference subcommittee, bringing the team’s vision to life. I enjoyed assisting in planning the conference, including generating the theme, brainstorming speakers, and bringing psychology students together.

Alongside PSA, I have been part of the UofT Friends of MSF chapter, Sexual Education Centre, and St Michael’s College orientation where I have further improved my event planning skills while collaborating with others. Previously, I helped plan my city’s first pride event with a turnout of 3,000 people and hosted numerous large-scale advocacy events.

As conference coordinators, I hope to:
1. Diversify the speakers, bringing in a greater variety of speakers from a range of different fields that implement psychology. This can include doctors, professors from other universities and departments, etc.
2. Increase accessibility by decreasing the ticket prices making them more affordable and allowing more students to connect with professionals outside the classroom.
3. Provides resources during and after the conference for students to further their connections and knowledge built during the event. This may consist of a raffle as well as shadowing and research opportunities.

Please vote for Clizia Martini as your Conference Coordinator! Thank you for your support.

Amna Nishat
Hey Psych students!

My name is Amna Nishat, a Psychology Specialist and Health Studies Major in my 4th year, and I’m excited to announce my candidacy for your next Conference Coordinator!

Having participated in various roles within the Psychology Students Association (PSA), including being a part of the Social Subcommittee, I’ve gained invaluable experience in event planning and a deep understanding of how our organization operates behind the scenes. This experience has taught me how to enhance our performance and create engaging, memorable experiences for all of you!

As Conference Coordinator, I aim to enhance our annual conference by focusing on a few key goals:
Diverse Programming: I will curate a lineup of speakers and workshops that showcase the wide range of psychology fields such as leading experts, innovative researchers, and engaging practitioners.
– Student Engagement: I will actively seek your input through surveys and interactive feedback sessions, making sure your ideas shape the conference. Whether it’s the theme, speakers, or even the venue, the conference will truly reflect psychology students’ wants and needs.
Networking Opportunities: I will create meaningful networking sessions that connect students with faculty and industry professionals, helping you build valuable relationships and explore new opportunities.
Sponsorship Expansion: I aim to expand sponsorships to reduce conference fees, making the event affordable and accessible for all.

Media Coordinator (1)

Madeline Cai
As the Media Coordinator for PSA, I aim to enhance our social media platforms, creating a hub where psychology students can easily access information about events, academic opportunities, and resources. Key objectives I plan to focus on include launching new social media initiatives, specifically educational reels, to guide students on getting involved in undergrad and preparing for grad school. Additionally, conducting interviews with current executives to provide insights into their career paths would be informative. Lastly, I plan to improve the PSA website by adding detailed information on how to get involved, career advice, and external resources.

As a transfer student from the Schulich School of Business, my passion for psychology led me to switch career paths. While I am new to this field, I am an avid learner who seeks out opportunities for constant growth in anything I’m studying. My previous experience as a marketing executive for the Corporate Social Responsibility Club, where I managed posts and reels to increase engagement, along with my work managing social media accounts for small businesses, has equipped me with the skills needed to improve PSA’s online presence.

In my spare time, I create content on TikTok, focusing on hairstyles and makeup-related topics!

Jenny Kim
Hi everyone! I’m Jenny Kim, a 4th-year psychology and cognitive science major with a minor in linguistics. As a dedicated student with experience engaging a diverse student body, I’m confident in my ability to boost the association’s visibility and foster a stronger sense of community.

With prior experience as an executive for another UofT student-run organization, I understand how to enhance communication and build connections. I also have a solid grasp of social media trends, which will help me create engaging, relevant content for our members. I believe clear communication is key to a connected student community, and I’m committed to keeping students informed and involved in our events and initiatives.

My goals include:
– Ensuring the PSA website and social media platforms are consistently updated and user-friendly, making it easy for students to find event and opportunity information.
– Collaborating with other UofT student groups to strengthen ties and provide new insights on psychology and other related fields of study
– Implementing innovative content strategies to increase engagement and encourage more active participation from the psychology student community.

I’m excited to create an engaging and supportive space for everyone interested in psychology!
Vote for Jenny as your Media Coordinator!

Megan Huynh
Hi everyone! My name is Megan, and I’m a 2nd year student pursuing a Psychology specialist and a Spanish major. I’m running to be your second media coordinator this year. I’m passionate about helping to enhance the external image of the organizations I am a part of, specifically through various creative promotional materials. I have ample experience with managing the socials of an organization, including being a social media executive for Cam’s Kids UofT (see some of my graphics at @camskids_uoft!) and for the Toronto chapter of alpha Kappa Delta Phi (@toakdphi). I’m excited about the prospect of being able to do the same with PSA!

As a media coordinator, I plan to:
– Create engaging content that reflects the interests of psychology students at UofT
– Ensure that the PSA website and other socials are easily accessible by members and non-members alike, extending our outreach
– Foster a sense of community by facilitating meaningful discussions and interactions on our platforms

I’d love to work with Lily to maintain an easily accessible and aesthetically-pleasing website, Instagram page, and more for psychology students. Please vote for Megan Huynh as your media coordinator! Thank you so much for your consideration:)
