Volunteer Research Assistant Position — Mount Sinai Hospital

Seeking Volunteers at an Internationally Recognized Multidisciplinary
Chronic Pain Centre at Mount Sinai Hospital

Excellent opportunity for several volunteer positions in either a
predominantly medical administrative support role or research support role
at the Wasser Pain Management Centre, Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto to
begin in February 2016.

Research role responsibilities include: assisting with several aspects of
the research process including conducting literature reviews on a wide
variety of chronic pain related topics, preparation and submission of
research ethics board applications, recruiting participants, collecting
data, organizing and maintaining research tracking databases, and
preparing manuscripts for submission to academic journals. There is also
opportunity for authorship on conference presentations and academic
journal articles.

Medical administrative role responsibilities include: filing documents,
photocopying, faxing prescriptions and other documents, organizing charts,
phoning patients, processing lawyer’s requests, and registering patients.
This is an exciting opportunity for students in medical programs who
require experience working in a medical clinic or for students applying to
graduate school with a research component.

We are seeking a minimum 1 year commitment and 1 to 2 full days (8 to 16
hours) of volunteer service per week Monday through Friday. Completion of
Immunization Health Records is required to volunteer at Mount Sinai
Hospital.

Preference will be given to candidates with previous research or
administrative related experience.
