Hello everyone!
My name is Sophia and I’m an incoming 5th year Psychology Major student at UofT. I am stoked to run with Tiffany for Co-President for the 2025-26 academic year!⭐️
Over the past two years—first as a subcommittee member and now as a Social Coordinator—I have gained special and valuable experience in leadership, event planning, and community building. My goal has always been to connect psychology students across campus and create spaces where everyone feels engaged, supported, and inspired.
If elected as Co-President, I aim to:

Secretary (1)
Angela Xu
Hello everyone!
I’m Angela 🙂 a third-year student double majoring in psychology and sociocultural anthropology. I’m excited to run for Secretary of the Psychology Students’ Association (PSA) for the 2025-2026 academic year!
As the current PSA Treasurer, I’ve worked behind the scenes managing finances and collaborating with our executive council. While this role has strengthened my organizational skills, I wish to engage with the broader psychology student community in a more direct and dynamic way. As your Secretary, I wish to help bridge the gap between PSA, the department, and you.
With experience as a communication assistant managing outreach for a research symposium, I communicated with Toronto City Council members on behalf of our team. Furthermore, working at an emotional support call line has enriched my active listening skills, enabling me to recognize individual concerns with care and attentiveness.
If elected, my guiding principle will be “accessibility” — ensuring that PSA’s resources are easy to navigate and responsive to your needs. I am committed to fostering open communication to make you feel supported.
Vote for me as your PSA Secretary, and I will always be there for you! Let’s make the year ahead engaging and fun together! Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Angela Xu
Jacob De Jesus
Hey Psych gang! My name is Jacob and I am running for secretary. As a current Academic Sub-committee member, I help manage the mentorship program, led the planning and hosting of last semester’s Dr. Freud competition, and also assisted with tech at the PSA conference. Having taken initiative in tasks outside of my role this year, I strive to help PSA in a new way.
Other than fulfilling the responsibilities outlined in the Secretary position, I also promise to maintain optimal communication between committees, acting as a bridge to prevent scheduling conflicts (as some have happened this year) and keeping the association consistently organized. I guarantee quick responses to any messages and e-mails, and am happy to be the first point of contact between PSA and all psychology students. I would also be the co-presidents’ right-hand person.
As current secretary of NAUS, I have made great strides to redefine my role. I assisted the co-presidents with administrative duties, made communication between committees more organized, and introduced a scheduling system ensuring events would not coincide. Thus, I am no stranger to being a successful secretary.
I look forward to serving you and keeping PSA organized and connected!
Treasurer (1)
Beatrice Timbol
Hello to the Psychology community! My name is Beatrice Timbol, and I am running for the Treasurer position at the Psychology Students’ Association (PSA) for 2025-2026. I am currently a third-year double majoring in Psychology and Criminology and I am a current member of the Social Subcommittee at PSA. With my experience as an executive member at two course unions, PSA and the Criminology Students’ Association (CRIMSA), I believe I have the relevant and essential skills to be an efficient Treasurer. My role as Co-Director of Social Events at CRIMSA and a Social subcommittee member at PSA allowed me to develop and refine my organizational and budgeting skills, as I have a keen eye for details, especially numbers. At CRIMSA during the recent year, I managed and kept track of the social team’s budget of approximately $1000 during the year, ensuring events stayed within budget. Further, I held similar responsibilities in PSA, where I managed and monitored our team’s budget for the event hosted by our subcommittee. I was able to do so with my proficient financial skills and knowledge in organizational applications, such as Google Sheets and Excel. With that, I would be honoured to serve as PSA’s treasurer.
Zixuan Xu
Hello UofT Psychology Community! My name is Zixuan Xu and I’m excited to be running to be PSA’s treasurer next year! (ง •̀_•́)ง
This past year, I’ve had the honour of working with the wonderful conference committee as a subcommittee member. One of my main roles was to track ticket sales, create a budget, and provide financial estimates for my coordinators throughout the planning process. Working closely with our current treasurer, I helped my other committee members maximize the potential of our sponsorships to create two successful events.
I would be overjoyed to extend my previous work to the rest of PSA in the 2025-2026 year. I hope that the outcome of this year’s conference and formal has shown you that I’m determined, passionate, and responsible. Although I’m not a professional, I have a background in math from high school, and as a life sciences student, am also proficient with Excel. If I become treasurer, I promise to provide clear financial statements, timely reimbursements, and help all executive committees feel in control of our funds.
If you’re looking for similar results for PSA events next year and a SERIOUS commitment towards this club’s cause, please consider giving me your vote! <3
Academic Coordinators (2)
Elif Kaya
I know how overwhelming it can be to find research positions, network with professors, and prepare for grad school. That’s why I’m running for Academic Coordinator! I hope to create more opportunities for psychology students to engage with research, career development, and academic support.
Leading a team of 100+ volunteers with my organization One Smile Effect, I developed initiatives like lived experience circles and peer-to-peer education programs that impacted thousands across 60 countries. I also created and hosted the I’mPossible podcast, interviewing people about their mental health journeys to dismantle stigma. I shared my changemaking journey on +20 media outlets, including Forbes, and +16 events, including TEDx. On campus, I serve as the events director of LGBTOUT, organizing social events to create a sense of belonging among queer students.
If elected, I will bring the same dedication to PSA by enhancing existing initiatives like the Dr. Freud Competition and mentorship programs, while creating new ones like a journal club, grad school & research skills workshops, and more based on what our community needs. I want to work with YOU, making decisions collaboratively, democratically, and transparently because this isn’t just about me, it’s about all of us.
Jen Oh
Good to see you! My name is Jen, an incoming fourth-year student double majoring in psychology & music, and minoring in linguistics.
If you were involved with the PSA in the last two years, there is a high chance I interacted with you. As a secretary of PSA in the 2023-2024 academic year, and an academic coordinator in the 2024-2025 academic year, I was involved in a variety of activities in PSA. A few goals Ishi and I set up for our next academic year includes:
1. Holding multiple support sessions for the mentorship program to foster a sense of community
2. Hosting study sessions outside of the mentorship program for additional support
3. Support students in the midst of their undergraduate existential crisis through these sessions
Outside of school, I am a part-time composer for student animation and video games. If you are looking for a composer in your project, feel free to let me know! (Free of charge for UofT students)
Nicole Stochmal
Hi everyone! My name is Nicole and I’m a third-year double majoring in Psychology and Environmental Science. I’m thrilled to be running for the Academic Coordinator position.
This year, I had the opportunity to be a mentor for PSA’s mentorship program where I assisted my mentee in adapting to university life and navigating their psychology degree through practical advice and insights. This experience reinforced my passion for peer support, academic development, and fostering a strong psychology student community.
With my experience as a Volunteer Research Assistant and active member within various other organizations across campus, I understand the challenges psychology students face and the resources they need to succeed. My goal is to bridge the gap between students and academic opportunities, ensuring everyone feels empowered in their psychology journey.

I’m committed to making psychology more engaging, supportive, and rewarding for every student. Please vote Nicole as your Academic Coordinator. Thank you for your support!
Sarah Sukhija
Hi everyone!
My name is Sarah and I’m excited to be running for Academic Coordinator. As a Psychology and Biology student currently in PSY100 I know how valuable group study session setting can be. Especially when they allow you to practice and learn without high stakes testing! I want to help create a supportive academic environment for all students interested in Psych.
If elected, I will organize engaging and effective study sessions in collaboration with professors and TA’s and other student mentors to help prepare material that relates to the tested content. These revision sessions will provide useful resources and an interactive learning style.
I am dedicated, organized, and hope to make a positive impact by supporting you academically. I would love the opportunity to act as your Academic Coordinator and make a meaningful impact!
Conference Coordinators (2)
Cadence Kwok – In a slate with Cindy Stover
AITA for wanting to improve our last PSA conference?
I (18F) was on last year’s conference subcommittee, bringing together 180+ attendees and an incredible day of career exploration and invigorating discussions. All of this would not have been possible without all the correspondence I facilitated with our sponsors, but I believe that next year we can do MORE.
I am prepared to bring cheaper tickets, next-level raffle prizes, and so much more. With all the experience I have in sponsorship outreach (and majestic Excel budgeting spreadsheets), I’m ready to secure bigger and better opportunities for YOU. I am not afraid of hard work and cold-emailing if it means that we deliver an engaging and interactive day of learning and discovery.
TL;DR: I know what works and have the foundation needed to widen the network of sponsors and opportunities for you. AITA?

Cindy Stover – In a slate with Cadence Kwok
| Replying to u/cadence_kwok | NTA. I also think last year’s PSA conference can be improved.
I, (18 F) was also on this year’s conference subcommittee. I helped plan the same conference and facilitated logistics and communication for PSA’s first ever career fair. With attendance from notable companies such as PwC, our career fair introduced opportunities in fields including healthcare, mental wellness, behavioural marketing research.
As conference coordinator, I plan to take this event to an even bigger scale, bringing in more companies and speakers to create exclusive networking opportunities that provide real career pathways for psychology students. With strongly established connections, and my direct experience on the conference subcommittee, I am the most qualified person to make this happen.
Beyond this, I took on additional roles in marketing and social media management, actively driving ticket sales and engagement to ensure the event’s success. I am dedicated. Staying-up-till-3am-designing-marketing-material dedicated. I was locked in then and locked in now, ready to bring you an even bigger, unforgettable conference experience.
TL;DR: I’ve played these games before. I know we can do better, and I have the experience to make it happen. NTA.

Seminar Coordinators (2)
Minting (Christine) Huang
Hi everyone! I’m Christine Huang, an incoming 3rd year student double majoring in Psychology and European Affairs, and minoring in Political Science. I am excited at the prospect of becoming your seminar coordinator for the 2025-2026 year!
Psychology is one of the most important and crucial ways to examine and understand the decisions behind current day policies; this capacity of psychology also makes it open to careers in various fields. As a seminar coordinator, I will be committed to bringing in speakers and experts within various fields for students to learn and find new opportunities.
As a rising junior, I understand the difficulties of gaining research or practical experiences. I will ensure students have the ability to engage in interdisciplinary discussions with professors and colleagues to explore and discover different ways to build their foundations.
Grad school is many people’s goals, and I want to give you some guidance to help make your journey to grad school easier! Jennifer and I will give multiple seminar sessions that are dedicated to giving students more information on everything grad school related.
Grace Ding
Hi! My name is Grace Ding and I want your vote for seminar coordinator. I am specializing in psychology and believe that my role as the seminar coordinator is to give students the platform for opportunities, network with the right professionals in the industry, and ensure that you receive the internships you deserve.
Apart from our seminars, a specific aspect I want to implement is doing cross community collaborations as psychology is a hub science and touches on so many other fields as we all know from our PSY100 classes. I propose implementing cross sectional collabs such as co-hosting with the Biology Student Association to promote those wanting to go to psychology events with a biological focus, perfect for those who are considering using psychology to apply for med school or for those who are simply exploring their options. Another collaboration could be with the Statistics Student Body, bringing in experts in quantitative psychology for aspiring researchers. These partnerships will provide you with targeted professionals and opportunities to connect with peers with interests that directly align with yours.
Vote Grace Ding for opportunities, personal growth and internships! (aka seminar coordinator)

Being part of the PSA’s social subcommittee this year gave me the opportunity to organize and support events that brought our psych community closer together. Violet Ives
Hi everyone!
My name is Violet Ives, and I’m running for volunteer coordinator! I’m a second-year student majoring in Psychology and Molecular Genetics and Microbiology. One thing about me is that when I have time in our busy schedules, I love to watch The Rookie!
This past year, I have been a volunteer in the PSA, working under the current coordinators and learning how PSA runs. I have loved being part of this community, participating in study with me sessions and office hours. I have gotten to know many wonderful people so far, and if I haven’t met you yet, I look forward to it!
As volunteer coordinator, I would add to this lovely community and increase student’s sense of belonging in this department by:
– Having study with me sessions (for those available) a couple times a month to help students meet more people in the field
– Including exam study with me sessions to help people get extra support from fellow students who have/are taking the same classes
– Ensuring that volunteers are available to help with any PSA events and that they feel supported in these roles
Please vote for Violet Ives as your volunteer coordinator! Thank you so much!
