Online Research Study on Trauma

We are a research team at the Wisdom & Identity Lab at the University of Toronto – OISE under the supervision of Dr. Michel Ferrari. We are conducting a research study to examine the factors that explain the relationship between experiencing a traumatic event and the possibility of growth and/or positive outcomes following adversity. We are looking for participants to complete a quick online survey about a previous traumatic event that they have experienced. Trauma is defined as being exposed to death, threatened death, actual or threatened serious injury, or actual or threatened sexual violence, in the following way(s), direct exposure, witnessing the trauma, learning that a relative or close friend was exposed to a trauma, or indirect exposure to aversive details of the trauma, usually in the course of professional duties (e.g., first responders, medics).

The survey will take approximately 60 minutes of your time. In appreciation of your time, participants will have the chance to win 1 of 4 $50 Amazon.ca gift cards!

To be eligible for the study, participants must:

  • Live in Toronto
  • Range in age from 18-29 years
  • Have experienced a traumatic event that occurred at least one year ago and after the age of 12
