Study at CAMH

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is seeking individuals aged 18-65 who are starting cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) with a licensed mental health professional. We are interested in examining changes to your emotional experiences over treatment. Participants must be experiencing some depressive symptoms (e.g., low mood, fatigue) but a formal diagnosis of depression is not required. What’s involved: One baseline interview (conducted online) and weekly surveys sent to your smartphone while you complete CBT for up to 12 weeks. All procedures are completed remotely. Dr. Chloe Hamza’s CARE lab at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto is currently conducting a study to better understand the impact of nonsuicidal self-injury on people who know someone who self-injures (e.g., peer, romantic partner). Recent research suggests that as many as 1 in 5 post-secondary students engages in nonsuicidal self-injury (self-harm without lethal intent). Professor Anthony C. Ruocco’s Clinical Neurosciences Laboratory at the University of Toronto Scarborough is seeking volunteer undergraduate research assistants to begin immediately.
